The Columbus Bassa Association is a community organization of Liberians in Central Ohio. Officially launched in 2013, the CBA embraces persons who hail from the four Bassa speaking counties in Liberia; Namely, Grand Bassa, Rivercess, Margibi and Montserrado Counties, their families and others, who have study, live and work in these counties as well as those who have interest in becoming members of the association. In 2014, a delegation of the CBA attended the United Bassa Organization in the Americas (UNIBOA) convention in Louisville, Kentucky as observers. That same year, the organization became a constituent of UNIBOA.
The goals of the CBA are to foster friendship and sense of community among its members and promote the Bassa heritage within Columbus and other parts of Ohio. We are also committed to play an part in rendering assistance to people and communities in the Bassa speaking counties of Liberia.
Currently, the CBA is collaborating with people of Bassa origin in Cleveland, Ohio to form an Ohio Bassa Association.
