Liberia needs a responsible and free press
Liberia needs a responsible and free press as we struggle to move our country out of that realm characterized by Illiteracy, Disease and Poverty. PUL is a legal entity. It has the right to sue, and can also be sued. Therefore, members of this organization must be legally held accountable for any acts which contravene the codes relative to responsible journalism. By the same token, our journalists must be recognized and respected in the discharge of their duties to the people of Liberia and the world. The Government of Liberia must not impede the work progress of the press through the illegal use of force, intermediation, suppression etc. Sometimes what is not permitted to be said can be more damaging and dangerous than what is allowed to be said. The conspiracy of silence is an undermining evil. Therefore, it should not be nourished nor encouraged by the Liberian Government.

The new government should share our natural resources with us.
We all need to work together to engage the new government to share our natural resources with us. The Nimba Range (LAMCO) has been given to some company, Mittal, which has a dismal history of bribing officials of the countries it operates in. Undoubtedly, Liberians have been bribed to allow this company to come to our counties. Bad, we disagree, we must be part of the agreement. The agreement must be transparent.

Born, schooled and lived in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, it is my fervent desire to see that Bassa and Liberia as a whole, become not just a better place to live, but face the challenges of the 21st Ciber-Tech century and lead Africa into the next era of development.
Thanks a million to the donors and all those who have made this website to survive and make us see more light into who we are, where we come from and redirecting where we are going. God richly blees you all.

WORDS TO LIBERIANS
Have we ever thought of the development of other nations we aided in the past? Are we thinking of how our negligence has led us to forgetting our future? Is there a time we concentrated on the past, present, and future of an old lady, Liberia who is one hundred fifty-eight (158) years old? Do Liberians have an individual or collective plan for the only mother we have in the World? We need to be people of oneness. Do we know that a little drop of water make a mighty ocean? If the answer to these questions is yes, I sincerely request for us to vote wisely for a person who is not only patriotic, but also knowledgeable to international affairs, politics and love us as citizens. He /she must fit within international acceptance and politics. I know almost all Liberians are devoted to the country, but do they love the people of the nation who give them the leadership? I will say a big no to this question. Our leadership since 1847 to present has been self centered. Many citizens may not agree that knowledge and international affairs have effect on our leadership. I will love to inform everyone that things are not the way it have been in old days. Presently the complete code of our World has changed dramatically, and it is time for us to change with it. The entire social, economic, ethical, educational, and political structure of our time has been over turned. Let us look back at firestone 1926 contract, the LAMCO contract, and other concession agreements Liberian leadership had signed and worked with for the past years. There have been no benefits for Liberians. I believe these have to do with my points above because those leaders did not understand international agreements as it relates to their people (Liberians). This has to do with patriotism and knowledge as well. For instance, President William V. S. Tubman, an eight-grade student led Liberia for 27th years. To prove my points, you can review his record of leadership. He was a man who had great disregard for education and development in all sectors of the land. President Samuel K. Doe, an uneducated man who decision to learn on the job brought about economic crisis in the first few months of his leadership after taking over from an organized government of President Tolbert in 1980, April 12th. The U.S. president Ronald W. Reagan misled Doe because of the lock of education and international political experience during the cold war in the 80s. I can cover 1000 pages of past presidential mistakes regarding my analysis, but I will let you to make those crucial political and historical judgement on Tuesday, October 11, 2005. Remember that the future of our children and grand children is in our own possession.
However, we have come to another critical decision making process of our old lady, Liberia future. Our decision will make her proud and great. If you can record, we have taken decisions through music that have not brought us progress in our political, education, and economic lives. In 1980, we sang “ native woman born soldiers.” It was also sung in 1997 that “ if he killed my ‘pa’ or ‘ma’, I'll still vote for him. Now we are singing ‘ if he doesn't know a thing, I will present him the leadership of my future. Have we forgotten? During the time of the native women soldiers, we faced economic crisis because of leadership, politics inexperience and education. Do we know that he killed our mother and father from 1989 to 1997, but he was also willing to kill us as well? I am not reminding you of history because you are informed more than I do; however, it is time for us to beaware that knowledge is power in the World of political leadership. Let the people of Liberia not forget that it is the eight great nations of the World (G-8) that are leading the World of our time. We need a leadership that is compatible to international standard and loyal to its citizens.
To the young people of a small country with great prospects as it relates to the youthful future. Are we following the political crowd of October 11, 2005 once more? Is there a thought of great future in our hearts, mind and soul? Can we not only be glad to God for an old nation that has not realized anything over the years for itself and us because of its poor leadership and unconcerned behaviors of governments for the people? A country of bad infrastructures, corrupt system, and largely uneducated youths is not good for young people. We are the next Liberia spoken about today. Will you vote for someone who will sign a document without knowing how many years the contract worth? Are you voting for a person who have corrupt you or your parents in the past? A person who brought war in the name of getting a single man out of power is unpatriotic. Are you voting for a person who will only promise you without producing it, but tell you to buy your own generators for use? Are you voting for a person who spoke against his or her own government for unjustified international practices? Will you vote for a person who will realize your dreams for the future? I suggest the youths of Liberia stage a Forum for all political parties before election. In this way, we will not only go down with what our friends and relatives tell us. Your future is in this election, for a good leadership will bring education and economic growth. Education is required for a new Liberia. I want us to look at China, India, and Japan in the world today. They went through our experience. Let remind us that life has no limit in a political sense. We give the political power, so we need to decide our rightful future in Liberia.
Parents, we born soldiers, rebels, soccer players, politicians, business people, and the list continue. Have we concentrated on the betterment of our country as these children are born citizens? It is about time we review our past and give Liberia a leadership that loves and cares for us. They all are your children, but Liberia is the oldest person you can only be proud of in the World. There is no where like home. If you choose a good person to take care of her like the way you took care of these men and women of yours, you will be proud of ground mother, Liberia who is 158 years old now. What is your decision for October 11, 2005?
I am addressing the elders, chiefs, and leaders of the fifteen- (15) counties of the land. I want you to consider these concerns of mind in relation to Liberia on October 11, 2005. Will you be unawared of the future of the country again, so we can enter another war after election? Are you informing your people that war is the worse thing we can do for Liberia and ourselves? Have you seen a great future for the people in this coming election? What are you advising them to do? It is time for us to love each other and be concerned about every political issues of our country. Liberia of 1847 to 2005 can not be the same for my children to meet. We deserve transformation in every sector of the country. We all know our history and need not to be told because it lives with us each day. Will you make those identical mistakes of the past? I say No! Your mistake of coordination and crucial information has harmed us. The year 2005 election is a time of change and greatness in that land.
To all Liberians, we are people of power and greatness. It can be seen if we use our decision wisely through God blessing. I will like you to vote with your mind and soul. There is no one politician who has done you well more than yourself. Let us not regret this election like other past political process. Long live the Lone Star of Liberia, and God blessed the nation of 158 years.

I will like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for a job well done. This has given us (Liberians in the diaspora) the opportunity of atleast getting some information of our morther land. If Liberians ( at home and abroad) can build a unify spirit, Liberia will be a better place.
Please keep up the good work.

Dear Fellow Liberians:
Once again, the family and close relatives of the late Dr. Harry F. Moniba would like to thank all relatives, friends, neighbors and compatriots for their kind words and messages of condolence and sympathy we received during the bereavement of the sudden loss of the former Vice President of Liberia in late November of 2004.
The following question has arisen several times over the past months: Who will the Moniba family now endorse since our beloved husband, father and leader tragically passed away? As we have informed many Liberians, I, Mrs. Moniba, along with my family and close relatives, are still grieving over the loss of our husband, father, uncle and brother and are presently not in the position to support any one candidate.
Nationally, we will be very interested in any candidate that will carry on the legacy of unequivocal love of country, honesty and unity of the Liberian people. In regards to the Liberian National Union Party (LINU), we, the party members, are all aware of the wishes of Dr. Moniba and his legacy which included a belief in the democratic process. That being the case, we, the family, have decided to let the party caucus and/or convention decide the leadership and standard bearership of LINU. We will always be interested and ready to support anyone who will stand as the true torch bearer of Dr. Moniba’s legacy of peace, stability and unity of Liberia and its people. We also are, and always will be, very committed to his beliefs which we know are the true wishes of our people.
Fellow Liberians, we have embarked on the turn of a new century and, thus, are all charged with the responsibility of building a better nation. Please let us all continue to pray that God shines his light on our country and its people.
Thank you all so very much.
Mrs. Minita K. Moniba

Bro. Somah and my Fellow liberians, I appreciate your effort by uniting yourselves. There is strength in unity.
I embraced the phrase where you mentioned that certain Liberians felt that it is their birthright to rule Liberia. The idea of buying rice to be distributed to the illiterate Liberians is a selfish and careless way of saying we don't care but the idea of educating the people in their various vernicular is a concern and caring view which every Liberian should consider seriously. if I may ask, Is it preferable to elect a man who has not done nothing for the nation within the period of twenty years and do we consider Ph,D, as a guideline for presidency? Liberia need a concern and caring Liberian regardless of education/degree. At least a high school graduate with experience and exposure.
I am a Liberian presently taking refuge in Nigeria.Certificate general building construction, B,Th, Theology, kru by tribe and a single Father.
Vision an NGO called GLAD: Give Liberia an Assured Destiny Inc. It's a Liberian registered, recognized, Licensed/Incorporated NGO. We are doing all to help our fellow the Liberians here in Nigeria.
Thanks for all your views and comments. Eventhough, some are long range proposals while others are to be done now to arrest the mistakes of the past. Thanks also for the website. Again I say congratulation and keep your mouth open alone with new ideas for our future and the future of generations yet unborn.
