UNIBOA joins the family and all the people of Fortsville of Mother Laura Rosetta Barnard – George who hails from Fortsville, Saint John River City, Grand Bassa County to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY Old Ma! The Barnard, Junius and Reeves families wish you many more birthdays to come as you join the Centenarian Club of the world.
Mother Laura Rosette Barnard-George was born in Fortsville, Saint John River City, Grand Bassa County unto the union of the late Col. Johnny T. Barnard and Mrs. Augusta Junius, Barnard. Today she hapens to be the sole survivor of her nine sibling all of whom have predeceased her with the exception of Edward L. Hall and Joanna Clarke, Saywrayne.
She has lived with Edward and Vonyee since May 1990. Vonyee has been more than a daughter-in-law. She has treated Mrs. George as her own mother.
Mrs. George has several grand, great grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Aunt Laura, as she is affectionately called by her friends and the citizen of her home town, Fortsville, has been a Mother for all who know her from that settlement in Bassa, including our current Board Chairman, Mrs. Mydea Reeves-Karpeh of UNIBOA.
Aunt Laura’s life has been an example for all the girls who came from that town. She is a Matriarch of St. John River City and loved by all who came to know her. As a role model, mentor, advocate and friend. She gave her best not only to her only son Edward, but she fostered many children who are making valuable contributions to society today. Her love for her family never faltered and she continues to inspire us each day with her strength, wisdom and compassion.
