The Barnard, Hall, Junius, Diggs, Benson and George families wish to announce the home going of Mrs. Laura Barnard-George whose centennial birthday was celebrated on March 15, 2008 in Bowie (MD - USA). She passed away peacefully 6:45 p.m. on May 5, 2008 at the Mariner Health of Greater Laurel, Laurel, MD (USA). She was born March 15, 1908 (in Fortsville, Grand Bassa County - Liberia) unto the union of the late Col. John T. Barnard Sr. and Mrs. Augusta Junius-Barnard. She lived in Fortsville until the onset of the war, constraining her to take up residency in the USA, May 1990. Her nine siblings having predeceased her, she automatically became the Grand Matriarch of the Barnard Family. She is survived by a host of relatives in the USA, UK, Germany, Liberia and Ghana: these include her son Edward Hall (Vonyee), daughter Joanna Clarke, three grandchildren, two great-grand daughters, nieces, nephews, one sister-in-law, cousins and friends.
