From Alfred M. Dousuah, President of UNIBOA

Fellow members, supporters and friends of UNIBOA, on behalf of the Board of Directors and Administration of the United Bassa Organizations in the America, (UNIBOA) I wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a joyful new year.

At Christmas our thoughts are always with our families, relatives, and friends; it’s the time of the year we seldom make the time to sit quietly and think of our blessings.

As we approach the light of the New Year, I would like to extend special greetings to those who have been there for us and given us their supports. You are in our thoughts and prayers. For everyone though, the holiday season is a time to reflect on the past, and to look to the future with hope and confidence. It is a time of celebration and of compassion. Many of us will be thinking of close friends and relatives whom we may have lost during the year. I hope you can spare a thought for the unfortunate ones.

I want you to know that UNIBOA continues to enjoy its status amongst the most committed and strongest ethnic organizations in the Diaspora. My hope for 2008 and beyond is that the goodwill and respect for each other will not be compromised and we shall keep up to the challenge to keep UNIBOA maintains its status, and remains focus on our humanitarian mission and goals.

I also want you to know how grateful I am for the support and respect you have offered me in carrying out my responsibilities as your President during the year.

I want to wish you and your families a joyful holiday season. This is the time of the year we seldom make the time to sit quietly and reflect on the past, think of our blessings and plan into the future. I would like to take this time to reflect on my blessings. I have spent the past months as president of this noble organization and I am glad to state that I am honored to accept this opportunity to serve you. Although UNIBOA still faces some difficult times and challenges ahead, it still maintains its most valued asset, you the members.

When I think of the blessings UNIBOA has enjoyed, it always come down to the dedicated individuals who have decided to commit themselves to UNIBOA, serving the people in need and continuing our mission. It is your dedications that inspired me during those challenging months of my leadership. I can assure you that your years of dedications and commitments will not be forgotten.

Rest assured that this leadership will continue to move UNIBOA forward and maintains the organization as it was originally conceived. Allow me to point out that we are blessed with a leadership of experienced individuals who are capable and willing to take UNIBOA to a higher level of effectiveness and efficiency among humanitarian organizations.

I know some of us are dealing with uncertainty about the future. Let me assure you, the future seems more certain and brighter as we approach it with hope, prayers and perseverance.

In deed, I count my blessings, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you in the capacity of president of UNIBOA, I am grateful for a dedicated membership, and I am grateful for UNIBOA and all my fellow members. Let us begin 2008 with renewed commitments to our humanitarian mission.
