UNIBOA DONATES TO BUCHANAN SEA ERROSION FUND

Newark, New Jersey – October 3, 2007: UNIBOA, the United Bassa Organization in the United States has presented a purse of USD$3,000.00 to Superintendent Julia Duncan-Cassell of Grand Bassa County as the organization’s donation to its sea erosion disaster fund.

Making the presentation to the Superintendent recently through money transfer and a phone call to the Superintendent, the President of UNIBOA, Mr. Alfred Dousuah emphasized that the money is intended to assist those citizens in Lower Buchanan, especially in Barlewreh Town and other areas who were affected by the erosion that engulfed the area in August, 2007 where homes were washed away leaving residents of the town homeless.

The Superintendent said the money was a great gesture from UNIBOA, the Bassa organization in the United States of America, and said the money will be used for its intended purpose. She hopes other humanitarian groups in Grand Bassa County will donate to this cause. She extends her thanks and appreciation to the members of UNIBOA.

The President of UNIBOA, Mr. Alfred Dousuah also expressed thanks and appreciation to Rep. Gabriel Buchanan Smith of Grand Bassa County and those who have come to the aid of the erosion victims and had made donations.
