UNIBOA-PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER EXECUTIVES MEET WITH REP.SMITH

Monrovia, Liberia: Two executives of the UNIBOA-Pennsylvania chapter have met with Grand Bassa electoral district #4 Representative Gabriel Buchanan Smith.
In their meeting, Rep. Smith outlined challenges the people of Bassa especially Buchanan city face in the social and economic circles.
He outlined specifically the issue of total absence of electricity, illiteracy to the computer age, lack of pit latrines for communities and medical equipment as major challenges.
Rep. Smith at the same time thanked UNIBOA for her continuous support to Bassa initiatives and urged them to continue such quest until Liberia becomes a better place to boast of.
UNIBOA-Pennsylvania chapter’s President, Benedict Roberts praised Rep. Smith for the acquaintance and promised to forward his concerns to their next board meeting.
He said his chapter is concern about unfolding in the Bassaland as it ranges from education to health and human resource.
He promised to do all in his power to becoming convincing so as to have some of the achievable issues discussed worked out. The Vice President of UNIBOA-Pennsylvania chapter who also was in attendance, Madam Charlesetta Siefas, a nurse said it was difficult to underestimate the critical nature of Liberia’s health sector.
What is crucial most for her is whether some Liberian medical personnels could handle the modern equipment.
Madam Siefas pledged her commitment in lobbying for the requisite medical equipment for the war-ravaged county.
The close to three hours lunch meeting was also attended by UNIBOA-Home affairs chairman, Toman Gboyah.
Mr. Gboyah reaffirmed his unflinching support to Rep. Smith and other legislators as well as prominent personalities of the Bassaland to continue this spirit and engagement with UNIBOA as they all try to build Liberia.
UNIBOA, in the past has been supportive to Bassa region initiatives including the schooling of students, distribution of clothing to orphanage and donation of cash to natural disaster victims etc.
The delegation is expected to leave the country soon.
