UNIBOA 2006 Christmas Party
UNIBOA recently held its second Annual Regional Christmas Party and National Capital Fund Raising Drive where a number of its local chapter heads were awarded with certificates of outstanding leadership.
UNIBOA President, Mr. Joseph D. Sinyan launched the “Annual Regional Christmas party and National Capital Fund Raising Drive” last year in an effort to jump start the Organization’s fund raising activities for its many projects in Liberia.
This year’s event was hosted by the South Jersey Chapter of UNIBOA, on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Trinity Cathedral Auditorium, 801 West State Street, Trenton, New Jersey was the second in a series of regional Christmas parties mainly within UNIBOA’s Eastern region Chapters of New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington DC. Proceeds from this occassion was earmarked for the National Capital Fund Drive effort.
This year's party was in three folds; early in the morning, Uniboa's National Leadership Workshop and later in the afternoon Uniboa's Executive meeting was held. Presenters at the Leadership Workshop were the Honorable Joseph M. N. Gbadyu, Former Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, who spoke on the topic, "The Synopsis of the Bassa Community Life"; the Honorable Emmanuel N. Reeves, Chief Financial Maritime Comptroller of the Liberian Government, spoke on "Managing of Nonprofit Organization"; Counselor Steven Glean Cooper, Former Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Litigation, spoke on "The Legal Aspect of Nonprofit Organization"; and Mr. Jerome Gayman of the North Jersey Chapter and CEO & Executive of United Way/Frontline for Kids, spoke on "Health Care Dilivery and Nonprofit Fund Management".
The President, in his Christmas Message emphasized the neglect of our children and the lack of access to education in Liberia due to the prolong civil unrest that devastated the country. He also spoke of sharing, giving, and the teaching of Jesus Christ. Read Speech ...
